What is an Assessment Report?
An assessment report is a document that summarises the findings of an assessment. It is used to improve internal processes by highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of an organization. It is usually written by an external party however, it can also be compiled internally. Assessments are usually performed as part of training and development programs, or as part a broader company performance review.
Assessment reports should clearly communicate the findings of the evaluation and what actions have been taken in light of these results. They should be simple to read and include a balance of visuals and text to communicate information. They should also consider the fundamentals of design for the company to ensure that they are effectively designed and reflect the brand.
Evaluation of a program isn’t about determining if students have fulfilled the pre-requisite requirements, but rather how they’ve progressed over time and if the curriculum has succeeded in improving the outcomes of students. This can be proved by the submission of an annual academic program assessment report. These assessment reports provide evidence that programs are reviewing their curriculum, showing continuous improvement and making adjustments to practices when the results from previous assessments are evaluated.
